Ignored

I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! Psalm 139:7

New Living Translation

No matter where you are. No matter what you’ve done. None of it matters. You can never push God away, or hide from His face, or get away from Him in any way. His presence is everywhere, in everything, at all times. He is inescapable.

What about those people who don’t have faith? That’s simple. They can’t escape God so they ignore Him. When a person decides to live outside of God’s plan, they actively choose to ignore what He has done and what He has called us to do. Just because someone is not a Christ follower does not mean that God is never near them or that where they go He has to leave. It means that they have to choose to continue ignoring Him in every situation.

That’s why it is important for believers to actively be displaying God’s goodness and willing to talk about Him. The only way they can successfully ignore Him is if He isn’t invited into the situation. As Christians, we must invite Him in so that others can either experience Him for the first time or so that another can no longer ignore Him.

However, nonbelievers are not the only ones who ignore God. When as believers we don’t acknowledge His goodness, we’ve ignored Him. When we refuse to walk in joy, we’ve ignored Him. When we only talk to Him when we “need Him,” we’ve ignored Him. There are so many ways that believers can ignore God.

What do we need to do in this case? Would you believe me if I said it was simple? Simply include Him in your daily living. Actively think about the blessings He has provided for you. Think on how He is helping you grow, even if the growth is happening through trials. Talk to others about the blessings He has provided. Just include Him in your life!

You probably remember when someone ignored you and how much that hurt. Since we are designed in the image of God, we have emotions that He feels too. We hurt Him every time we ignore Him, which is a lot. Let’s make His day. Include Him in the here and now.
