It is always easier to accomplish something when you are following someone who knows what they are doing. Maps make taking a trip easier. Basically, having a leader or guide is essential in some way.
God is our guide, our leader, our all-in-all. He helps us learn right from wrong. He helps us know what are good and bad decisions. He provides us with the ultimate life map; the Bible.
Look what David says in his Psalms:
Yahweh, lead me in the pathways of your pleasure just like you promised me you would, or else my enemies will conquer me. Smooth out your road in front of me, straight and level, so that I will know where to walk. Psalm 5:8
The Passion Translation
Your pleasant path leads me to pleasant places. I’m overwhelmed by the privileges that come with following you! Psalm 16:6
The Passion Translation
That’s where he restores and revives my life. He opens before me the right path and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness so that I can bring honor to his name. Psalm 23:3
The Passion Translation
You lead me with your secret wisdom. And following you brings me into your brightness and glory! Psalm 73:24
The Passion Translation
These are only a few scriptures and they alone give no room for questioning whether God leads us or not.
Something to remember is that God is good and honest and true. He never forces you to take His path, but He always encourages it, knowing it is the best path to take. If you’re asking God to lead you, but aren’t willing to take the risks, are you really wanting to be led?
See, there is so much more to a relationship with God than words and thoughts. You can pray a prayer everyday of your life and never truly have a relationship with God. A huge piece of that relationship is action.
God is waiting on you to take action on everything that He has planned for you. Just because you don’t see it does not mean that God does not have a plan for you. Sometimes He is waiting to reveal the next part until you show that you trust Him. He never has to think up a plan on the fly. He just has undeniably perfect timing in revealing things.
I can never express enough times that you need to have a relationship with Jesus. Your life now may seem ‘good enough,’ but without God, you lose your entire purpose. I pray that you take time to seriously look at yourself and see if you have a relationship with God.
