Do You Believe?

My name is Quill. I love God and love to write. What better way to merge these together than a Bible blog?

There are many wonderful subjects that are covered in the Bible (and some not so wonderful, but important). Did you know that you could apply them to daily living? It can be a challenge at times, but rewarding. By far I am not a wonder writer with all the answers, but I want to share with you things that I’ve noticed in the Bible that may spark a new understanding within you.

The most important thing that everyone needs to know is the truth about Jesus. Have you ever heard about what He has done for you? Do you trust Him? Do you have a relationship with Him?

Before you can easily answer those questions, you need to know a little more about your faith. When I was in Middle School, I started attending conferences by Dare2Share Ministries. They taught me, and thousands of other teenagers, the GOSPEL.

The GOSPEL is also called Life in 6 Words. These six words are connected to six sentences which explain everything about your faith. Those six sentences are…

  1. God created us to be with Him. (Psalm 100:3)
  2. Our sins separate us from God. (Romans 3:23)
  3. Sins cannot be removed by good deeds. (Isaiah 64:6)
  4. Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again. (Romans 5:8)
  5. Everyone who trusts in Him alone has eternal life. (John 3:16)
  6. Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever. (John 17:3)

God, Our, Sins, Paying, Everyone, Life. You see it? GOSPEL

Had you ever heard this before? Maybe you hadn’t heard it exactly like this, but you may have heard a different style of this. Then again, there are others who have never heard the full story.

There are many people who have been told that they are made and loved by God. Sadly, not many people have been told how our sins have separated us from God. Only perfection can be in His presence.

‘I’m a good person, though, that should be enough.’ That is a phrase that has been spoken by almost everyone, if not everyone. This isn’t true. Nothing you can do can make you perfect. What’s the point of God if we can do it all on our own? Our sins cannot be removed by us being good people.

Thankfully, God made a way because He loves us so much. Jesus was sent to this earth, was hung and then died on a cross, and rose back to life all for us. He did this to pay for our sins. When we believe that He died for our sins and rose again, and we trust in Him, He washes all our sins away. Simply ask for forgiveness and repent and He will set you free.

This does not mean that we can do whatever we want and just keep asking for forgiveness. This also doesn’t mean that we will never sin again. This means that we ask God to help us to change our ways. We ask Him to forgive us when we mess-up because we are imperfect humans. He will help you if you really want to be led away from sin. Just ask, mean it, trust Him, and resist temptations.

Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever? What does that mean? That means that when you trust in Jesus, you allow Him into your life. You have invited Him to be the one who is in control. This means that you don’t have to wait for death and the life after that in Heaven to be with Him. He is with you now. He will never leave you, though He will never force you to want Him or love Him. He waits for you to come to Him.

Be encouraged by John 3:17 which says,

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:17
