Does God Care About Clothes?

“You are to clothe them—your brother Aaron and his sons with him—and anoint them and ordain them and set them apart as holy, so that they may minister as my priests. Make for them linen undergarments to cover their naked bodies; they must cover from the waist to the thighs. These must be on Aaron and his sons when they enter the tent of meeting, or when they approach the altar to minister in the Holy Place, so that they bear no iniquity and die. It is to be a perpetual ordinance for him and for his descendants after him.” Exodus 28:41-43

Beyond My Understanding

It’s easy to get focused on what we can see and what we desire. It’s easy for our prayers to be influenced by what we understand, our human wisdom. I think that’s why there are so many people who insist their prayers haven’t been answered. The prayers were relying so much on human wisdom and understanding of the situation that anything other than the perfect formula demanded by the person praying is considered their prayer being unanswered. However, this denies the fact that God’s wisdom is greater than any human understanding.

Beloved Enemy

Do you have that one person that you really-really don’t like? The one who you pray you don’t have to talk to at the church social? Or the one who hurt you but acts like nothing happened? Basically, do you have someone who you might consider an enemy? Well, God has enemies, too. But these enemies probably aren’t who you think they are.

My Opinion Doesn’t Matter

I am a very opinionated person. Ask anyone who knows me. I have an opinion on my hair, your hair, your dog’s hair, and even that statue’s hair. My opinion matters…at least that’s what I tell myself. I’m sure at least half of you reading this feel the same way…about your opinions mattering…not about my hair. So, needless to say, when I come across a scripture like Genesis 24:50, it makes me stop and pause.

You were taught with reference to your former way of life to lay aside the old man who is being corrupted in accordance with deceitful desires, to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and to put on the new man who has been created in God’s image—in righteousness and holiness that comes from truth.
